Live Report

Real-time Shopify order monitoring that adapts to any screen — from a wall-mounted monitor to a tablet at a packing station, to a customer service desk that needs one-click access to every order.

The Live Report runs inside Export OrderPro in Shopify Admin. It uses the column layout and filters you've already configured in your report design, and refreshes on a 5-minute cycle without any manual action.

Features

Auto-Refresh and Manual Refresh

The Live Report refreshes every 5 minutes when Auto-refresh is enabled. New orders appear automatically. The last-refresh timestamp updates with every cycle so your team knows how current the data is.

Use the Refresh now button for immediate updates — at the start of a shift, during a rush, or any time you need the current state without waiting for the next cycle.

Auto-refresh is stored per report in the browser. Multiple Live Report tabs can each have their own refresh setting independently.

Open in a Dedicated Tab — Full-Screen Mode

A single button opens the Live Report in its own browser tab. From that tab, pressing F11 (Windows/Linux) or using your browser's full-screen option (Mac) fills the entire display with nothing but the report.

This turns any device with a browser into a dedicated order screen. No extra apps, no extra hardware:

  • Wall-mounted monitors in a kitchen or warehouse
  • Tablets at packing stations or checkout counters
  • Shared screens in a customer service area

Chrome on Android supports Add to Home Screen — create a one-tap icon that opens the Live Report directly in full-screen mode on any Android device.

Collapsible Configuration Panel

The Configuration panel collapses to give the report table full screen space and expands when you need to change settings. The Live Report remembers whether you left the panel open or closed.

Inside the configuration panel:

  • Report layout — switch between any of your saved report designs; the table reloads immediately
  • Filters — apply date ranges or saved filter sets on the fly, no save step required
  • Display settings — quick link to Compact mode and other display preferences

Compact Mode

Compact mode reduces font size and cell padding across the entire Live Report table, fitting more rows into the same screen area. It is designed for smaller monitors, tablets, and any display where vertical space is limited.

Enable it once in Settings → Configuration → Report Display → Compact view. The browser stores the setting and keeps it active across restarts, so a display device stays in compact mode at every shift without staff needing to re-enable it.

Add link-type columns to your report design to turn the Live Report into a navigation tool — not just a monitoring display. Click any linked cell and open the corresponding Shopify page in a new tab.

No search, no navigation, no context switching — click the order number in the Live Report and land on the Shopify order page.

Custom Columns and Color-Coded Rows

The Report Designer supports custom column types that add data beyond Shopify's standard order fields: fixed text labels, note attributes, order and customer metafields, variant metafields, and more.

In the Live Report, the most visually distinctive custom column type is Local Row Status — a per-row dropdown that color-codes each order row when a staff member selects a preparation stage. Processing turns a row amber. Ready turns it green. Packed fades it to grey.

All selections store in the browser. Nothing is written to Shopify, no API permissions are needed, and the status choices survive the 5-minute Auto-refresh cycle on the same device.

Use Cases

Restaurants and cafes — Keep the Live Report on a kitchen screen in full-screen mode with Auto-refresh enabled. Incoming online orders appear every 5 minutes. Staff track preparation stages using the Local Row Status column without needing Shopify Admin access.

Warehouses and fulfillment centers — Display the Live Report at a packing station with a custom column layout showing order number, SKU, quantity, and address. Compact mode fits more orders on screen. A status column tracks each order through the pick-pack cycle.

Customer service teams — Monitor incoming orders in real time with Auto-refresh. Click an order number via the Order URL column to jump directly to the Shopify order detail page when a customer calls. No searching, no copying order numbers.

Flash sales and events — Watch order volume in real time during high-traffic periods. Compact mode and Auto-refresh together give a broad, current view of incoming orders on a single screen.

Multi-location operations — Run one Live Report tab per fulfillment location, each filtered to its own location's orders, each with Auto-refresh on. Every team sees only their queue.
